Prepare access in Taobao Merchant Workbench
The connection uses application authorization with seller-approved permissions. Create store-specific access for Taobao; do not reuse an owner's personal password.
Confirm the account belongs to China and Taobao cross-border audience to avoid mixing stores and currencies.

Checks after connection
The main Taobao workflow covers broad C2C/B2C assortment, product variants, promotion and fast demand shifts. Verify products, orders, settlements and inventory for the fulfillment models in use.
Operational reconciliation must reflect that orders are fulfilled through seller warehouses and connected Chinese logistics channels.
Protect access and data
Never send tokens or keys through chat, email or screenshots. A connection status and sanitized error text are enough for diagnostics.
When access is revoked, create a new value, save it and run a control import.
